PETALING JAYA: The Higher Education Ministry is urging the 22 students whose pictures have been released by the police in connection with the last Saturday’s rally here, to come forward and assist in police investigation.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the ministry would cooperate with the police to look for the students.

“If we (the ministry) find the students first, we will advise them to surrender and to let the police question them. They should not be afraid,” he said after launching the Early Childhood Education College campus in Damansara Damai yesterday.

The twenty-two students are among those 49 whose pictures have been released by the police in connection with the various offences committed at the rally.

On the ministry’s action, Mohamed Khaled said: “We will only take necessary action after the outcome of the police investigation.”

Last Saturday, rally participants had not only breached police barricades to enter Dataran Merdeka, but also a court order which prohibited the public from being in the area between April 28 and May 1. — Bernama
