Muhyiddin arrives in UAE for three-day official visit

ABU DHABI: Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived here yesterday for a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Muhyiddin, who flew in to the Abu Dhabi International Airport at 11.15am (local time), was welcomed by UAE Minister of Education Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami.

Also present were the Malaysian Charge d’Affaires in the UAE, Abdullah Ma’amor Ibrahim, and other embassy officials.

Muhyiddin, who is also education minister, was accompanied by his wife, Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman, and Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir.

Muhyiddin, who is on his first official visit to UAE, is scheduled to have an audience with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed Zayid, and attend a gathering of Malaysians in Abu Dhabi at a hotel here at night.

On Tuesday, he is scheduled to attend a roundtable meeting with captains of industry, and visit a school here.

Muhyiddin will deliver a keynote address at the Transforming Education Summit (TES) organised by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) before departing for home. — Bernama
