KUCHING: A woman was dragged 50m by a motorcyclist who attempted to pull her handbag at Stutong Community Market here at about 8am yesterday.
She managed to keep her handbag but was not unscathed, sustaining bruises on her waist, back, hands and legs.
She was shoving purchased items into her car when the man tried to grab her handbag from behind.
He pulled but the 30-somethingwoman would not let go of her handbag.
She held onto it so tightly that the man had to accelerate a bit but ended up dragging her 50m.
Worried about drawing attention to himself, the snatcher gave up and sped off.
Some relatives sent the victim to a private hospital before making a police report at the One Stop Centre in Simpang Tiga.
