KUALA LUMPUR: CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) have organised a special session to introduce the Malaysia Trustmark for Private Sector (MTPS) to e-commerce merchants and operators.

Over 50 participants attended the session held here Tuesday.

In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) said the MTPS was introduced as a means of validating web security control of an organisation’s website involved in e-business, with CyberSecurity as the certifier.

CyberSecurity chief executive officer, Lt-Col Prof Datuk Husin Jazri, said once the organisations had surpassed the assessment process, they would be awarded with the Malaysia Trustmark Certification.

“The organisations that hold the certificates will be recognised as trusted and reliable e-commerce business and transaction operators,” he said.
