KUCHING: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (Bank Islam) has been named winner of the Platinum Award for Islamic Financial Services at the annual Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Award 2012.

“This is the fourth year in a row that the Malaysian bank has been awarded the honours,” said Bank Islam in its press release yesterday.

According the the statement, The Reader’s Digest awards are based entirely on consumers voting through a survey conducted among the readers of the magazine.

During the survey, consumers were asked to rate the most trusted brands based on six qualitative criteria, namely ‘Trustworthiness and Credibility, Quality, Value, Understanding of Customer Needs, Innovation and Social Responsibility’.

“Scores given by consumers for these attributes were combined with the number of people choosing the brand to produce the final rankings in each product category which then determined the awards,” the press release explained.

Bank Islam stated that it was honoured and humbled to have received the prestigious status once again, believing that it reinforced the confidence of its valued customers.

“Trust is such an important element in business, hence, Bank Islam is pleased to be able to earn and keep the trust of its customers over time.

Moving forward, Bank Islam will continue to intensify its efforts in ensuring high customer satisfaction,” said the press statement.
