Unimas ranks 165 out of 500 top Asian universities

KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas)’s 20th anniversary this year is made sweeter when it was announced as the 165th university among the top 500 universities in Asia by QS Asian University Rankings 2012 recently.

According to a press release, the ranking had improved from 191 in 2011. QS Asian University Rankings with the co-operation of The Chosun Ilbo from South Korea has published its research findings on Asia’s best universities through a website, www.topuniversities.com since 2009.

This year, Unimas and several universities like Universiti Malaya and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia have also improved their standings. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) maintained the top position, followed by National University of Singapore.

The success is a recognition to the effort by Unimas staff and serves as a motivation to put in more effort to achieve the best result in all fields.
