MIRI: Tokutokuya, an international chain of retail store, is getting its first foothold here in Sarawak.

Tokutokuya is a well-established chain of one of the 100 Yen superstores operating in Japan. Its head office is located in Izumo, Shiumana.

Its franchise has expanded to Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Myanmar and Malaysia. The Japanese word ‘tokutokuya’ simply means profitable.

The store offers a wide selection of products ranging from daily goods to food, cosmetics, pet supplies, hardware, home décor and traditional Japanese arts and crafts at amazingly low prices to satisfy its customers.

Its philosophy is based on business development model of consistently achieving customers’ satisfaction by offering valuable products at flat prices.

In Malaysia, there are not less than eight outlets currently in operation.

The outlet at Permyjaya, Miri is the first in Sarawak and the third outlet in East Malaysia. Its official opening ceremony was held yesterday.

“As the master agent for Sarawak, we plan to open more outlets and invite more like-minded young energetic entrepreneurs to join us,” said its marketing director Ngu Yew Teck.

Tokutokuya opens daily from 10am to 9pm.
