Renewal of printing licence, publication permit abolished

0

KUALA LUMPUR: The licence for printing presses and permit for publications will no longer be required to be renewed annually effective July 15.

Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (security) Datuk Alwi Ibrahim said the licence or permit, which expired after that date, would remain valid unless revoked by the government.

However, the licence or permit, which expired before the date, had to be renewed, he said in a statement yesterday.

New applications for the licence and permit remain unchanged.

Alwi said those who wanted to change the information in their licences and permits should notify the ministry.

The abolition of the renewal of the licence and permit was in line with the amendment to the Printing Presses and Publications Act 2012, he added. — Bernama
