Tom Cruise visited Suri in New York City on Tuesday for the first time since his divorce from Katie Holmes. Tom was photographed holding their six-year-old daughter as she wrapped one arm around his neck and clutched a stuffed toy animal in the other.
Tom, 50, was filming his latest movie in Iceland last month when Katie, 33, filed for divorce, surprising the Scientology superstar. Since then, he has returned to America and the two have settled issues including child custody.
Separately on Monday night, Katie and Suri were involved in a minor car accident with a New York City Sanitation truck. An NYPD spokesman said an accident involving a Mercedes and a truck occurred around 9:30pm on Monday, but said he couldn’t name the passengers.
A separate source speaking on condition of anonymity confirmed Katie and Suri were in the Mercedes when the truck hit the car. There were no injuries and no criminal charges were expected, police said.

Meanwhile, Tom’s attorney has threatened the parent company of the National Enquirer with a multimillion-dollar lawsuit over a recent issue asserting it had details of his divorce.
The Hollywood Reporter posted a letter from LA lawyer Bert Fields, in which he blasts American Media Inc for what he calls “false and vicious lies” he says will cause “hundreds of millions of dollars” in damages to Tom.
“As you were notified in advance, your current issue of National Enquirer makes numerous false and defamatory assertions about our client Tom Cruise,” the three-page letter begins. The letter draws attention to disparaging descriptions of Tom in the issue, with Fields writing, “These are all lies—vicious, hurtful, damaging lies.”
Tom and Katie have been the subject of hundreds of headlines worldwide since she filed for divorce two weeks ago, seeking sole custody of Suri. Late last week they agreed to a divorce and custody arrangement, but details were undisclosed.
Both have remained publicly silent about the issue, except for one joint statement in which they said they were working together to settle their differences in the best interest of Suri.
