KUALA LUMPUR: Firefly will mount additional flights to Kota Bharu, Pekanbaru, Medan and Langkawi to meet the high demand for flights this coming Hari Raya festive season.
The additional return flights would depart on Aug 16,17,18,25 and 26.
Firefly chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said based on advance sales figures, most flights on the key festive dates were between 65 and 70 per cent full.
This year the festive was expected to fall on Aug 19, resulting in a four-day weekend with the National Day public holiday falling on Friday just 11 days later.
“Air travel is faster, safer, more convenient and comfortable than driving and the flight and operations crew are ready to get everyone where they need to be efficiently and promptly,” he added. — Bernama
