MARUDI: The various Orang Ulu communities in Baram should be united and give full cooperation to their leaders.

Only in this way, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu said, development projects initiated by the leaders and Barisan Nasional government can be implemented for their wellbeing and progress.

The Deputy Chief Minister and Rural Development Minister told them that the leaders were the eyes and ears of the government who understood their needs and wants.

He cited such leaders as Baram MP and International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan, senator Lihan Jok, Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau Jok and political secretary to the chief minister Robert Laing Anyie.

Jabu said this in his speech during the thanksgiving ceremony for the appointment of Pemanca Elizabeth Deng Wan at Eda-Beran, Long Laput village, here recently.

Present were Sagan, Ngau, Lihan, Laing Anyie and Miri Resident Anthonio Kathi Galis.
