Widows receive Ramadan gifts during breaking of fast

KUCHING: Eleven widows of police personnel received Ramadan gifts from the Police Families Association (Persatuan Keluarga Police/Perkep) during a breaking of fast organised by the state police contingent yesterday.

The event was held at Masjid Al-Mujahiddin in Tabuan Jaya Police Complex with Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar and State Police Commissioner Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani in attendance.

Also present were Ismail’s wife, who is Perkep’s national chairperson Puan Sri Suriati Md Sobri and Acryl’s wife, Datin Zaiton Mat Isa who is the state Perkep’s chairperson.

After the presentation of Ramadan gifts, Taib led the others for the Tarawikh prayers.

Also present were State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Morshidi Ghani and State Deputy Police Commissioner SAC Datuk Law Hong Soon.
