Maxis’ Salam Ikhlas kicks off this Ramadhan

KUCHING: Maxis Bhd (Maxis) is introducing its new discovery point for its Muslim subscribers to access an integrated suite of Islamic content and services in conjunction with its Salam Ikhlas 2012 campaign.

According to a press statement yesterday, “All customers need to do is dial *222# on their mobile phones or visit www.maxis.com.my/ikhlas to discover more than 30 Islamic products and services available all year round.”

Maxis customers would be able to access the services across all devices in a variety of forms such as SMS, MMS, applications, video, audio and eBooks which could be read on iPads, Android devices and personal computers.

The statement added that the key services under Salam Ikhlas 2012 included free ‘Imsak’ and ‘Buka Puasa’ times where customers would be provided with free alerts, allowing them to stay informed of the exact times during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Another key service that is provided through the programme was mZakat, a channel that allows Maxis users in the states of Selangor, Sabah, Kedah, Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan and Melaka to fulfull their religious obligation during Ramadhan by contributing ‘zakat’ via SMS.

Maxis head of Marketing Strategy, Shanti Jusnita Johari said, “We introduced Salam Ikhlas back in 2008 with
free Ramadhan and Haj content.

We have now expanded our range of offerings which our customers can access conveniently at their fingertips, either at home, work or on the go.

“Apart from free Imsak and Buka Puasa times alerts and mZakat, we are also offering Ramadan Videos, Takaful protection, relevant mobile content through Tazkirah Portal and much more,” added Shanti.
