SIBU: Another 1Malaysia clinic will be set up at Taman Permai here, making it the fourth one to be set up in Sibu.

Speaking to reporters at SJK(C) Thian Chin here yesterday, Minister of Local Government and Community Development Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh said the clinic, to be built just beside the school, would cost about RM300,000 courtesy of Soon Hup Construction Sdn Bhd.

Work on the project is expected to start middle of this month.

“We expect the clinic to be ready in three to four months from now,” he said.

Wong, who is also Second Finance Minister, said the clinic would benefit the people in Taman Permai which has about 3,000 houses and the surrounding areas.

He praised Soon Hup Construction for its generosity.

“This community self-help spirit is important. The company really shows that it cares, has compassions and concern for the community,” he said.

Also present at the function were divisional health officer Dr Mohammad Rais Abdullah and Soon Hup director Ting Chii Hua.
