KUCHING: State BN Backbenchers chairman Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah yesterday expressed his disappointment with Kota Alam Shah assemblyman Manoharan Malayalam’s posting in his Twitter account over the failure of Datuk Lee Chong Wei to win gold in the Men’s Singles Badminton finals at the Olympic Games in London.

He alleged that Manoharan, in his tweets, had made it a political issue by saying that Pakatan Rakyat had a very capable leader who could become a good sports minister and if it won over Putrajaya it would bring back a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.

Karim, in a text message to The Borneo Post yesterday, called for the opposition to provide all the names for their shadow cabinet first and asked whether PKR, DAP and PAS could formulate ways to name a prime minister if they won the 13th general election.

Describing the opposition as ‘Pakatan Rapuh’, he said Manoharan’s tweets were just among one of their empty promises, which pointed at the internal conflict should they win over Putrajaya.

“Everyone can throw a promise but the issue now is will they be able to fulfil it?” he said, adding that only those who were foolish would blindly accept what Manoharan said.

Manoharan in his Twitter also said Malaysia would win its first gold after Pakatan takes over as the ruling government, before calling for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to give all the promised monetary reward for Chong Wei to Lin Dan who won the gold instead.

His tweets which were posted soon after Chong Wei’s defeat had created an uproar and invited comments after screenshots of his Twitter tweets were posted all over social networking websites such as Facebook.
