Police Conduct Roadblock During Fasting Month

KUALA BELAIT:  Despite the fasting month, traffic police from the Traffic Control and Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, Belait Branch, stood under the scorching sun to conduct a roadblock operation along Jalan Anduki Seria, Borneo Bulletin reported.

More than 20 motorists were issued with speeding tickets and compound fines for overtaking on the double white lines.

All vehicles passing through the road were subjected to inspections during the roadblock, whereby authorities were eyeing illegal car modifications and expired road tax, among other violations.

The operation was conducted with the purpose of reminding motorists of the road regulations, and was part of ongoing efforts to ensure that Brunei roads are accident-free during the fasting month.
