KUALA LUMPUR: The Cabinet today decided to give personal insurance to some 14,000 volunteer firemen as compensation for their invaluable services.
Housing and Local Government Minister, Datuk Seri Chor Chee Heung said the personal insurance covers firemen hurt and died while on duty starting next January.
“Some RM40,000 will be given for death and RM20,000 for injuries,” he said after launching Ops Raya 2012 of Fire and Rescue Department at IOI Shopping Mall, Puchong near here Wednesday. –Bernama
