KUCHING: A site supervisor was slightly injured on the back of his neck when part of a recently-built brick wall collapsed on him yesterday.

The 38-year-old man was inspecting a shop in Satok, which is currently undergoing renovation works, when the upper section of a nine-foot wall fell on him around noon.

He was lucky to escape more serious injuries. Workers at the site quickly rushed him to the Sarawak General Hospital.

In another incident, a Polish tourist was also sent to the Sarawak General Hospital yesterday after she was knocked down by a four-wheel drive vehicle at Padang Merdeka.

The 19-year-old was crossing the road towards a nearby hotel around 11.30am when a Mitsubishi Pajero failed to brake in time and bumped into her, sending the teen tumbling onto the road.

Though in obvious pain, she did not appear to suffer any broken limbs and was sent in an ambulance to the hospital.
