Don’t quarrel among yourselves, Dr Mahathir reminds Muslims

LANGKAWI: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has reminded Muslims not to quarrel among themselves, especially when vying for a leadership post in any political party.

“We must  also not have animosity just because we have different political beliefs. There is no reason for us to be fighting among ourselves and be disunited.”

Dr Mahathir said this at a breaking-of-fast and presentation of Raya contributions to orphans and senior citizens at A’aishah Mosque, here, last Saturday night. He said the people should not be disunited as this country was no longer colonised.

“If we are united, we will definitely be strong, and we should be grateful as this country is not facing any war or horrible natural disaster, but living in peace without any disturbance,” he said.

The former premier said Malaysians should also be grateful as they were enjoying many benefits not available in many other countries. —Bernama
