BAGAN SERAI: Islam places the responsibility of carrying out charitable works towards the underprivileged on all its people who can afford to do so, said Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah yesterday.
“Charitable practices assures the well-being of the needy within a community so that they can also experience a normal life like others,” she said.
She was speaking at a function to distribute Hari Raya Aidilfitri aid at SK Matang Jelutong, here yesterday.
A total of 339 orphans, single mothers, senior citizens and disabled persons received cash and essential items during the programme organised by the Sultanah Haminah Orphanage Foundation. — Bernama
