13 schools take part in marching competition

MIRI: Thirteen secondary schools here took part in a police cadet marching competition held at the Miri police headquarters yesterday morning.

The event kicked off at about 9am.

Miri police chief ACP Mun Kock Keong and his deputy Supt Sepian @ Sapian Salihin attended the event.

Among the schools
involved were SMK St Columba, SMK Chung Hua, SMK St Joseph, SMK Dato Permaisuri, SMK Agama and SMK
Luak.

“We are hoping that through this kind of activity, we can produce a disciplined generation who are healthy and pro-active,” said Mun.

The best male and female platoon will be representing the state police cadet in a marching event to be held in conjunction with the head of state’s birthday ceremony this coming Sept 8 in Miri.
