‘Festive gatherings good for unity’

SIBU: Festivity like Hari Raya gathering would help to further promote and strengthen the spirit of unity among Malaysians of all races.

The guest of honour Temenggong Vincent Lau Lee Ming stressed that unity is a very important factor to ensure we could continue to enjoy the current precious prosperity and a harmony in the country.

He was speaking at the Hari Raya gathering jointly organised by Dayang Normaliza Pengiran Tambi and Muslim Community of SMK Tung Hua.

Dayang Normaliza is the deputy chairman of Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SMK Tung Hua.

PTA chairman Eric Chia and the school principal Ling Chai Ping were also present.

Lau said unity is very important because without unity, we might not be able to enjoy a peaceful and prosperous environment.

“Thus, we, Malaysians at all levels must uphold our precious unity in making sure that this kind of prosperity and peaceful living environment will continue for many generations to come,” he added.

Lau also thanked the generous sponsor of the Hari Raya gathering, Dayang Normaliza for making the event successful.

He also called on the members of the Parent-Teacher Association of SMK Tung Hua to continue with their concerted efforts in making sure their students excel in both academic and co-curricular activities.
