KUCHING: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) has issued a show cause letter to its Bintangor senior member Paul Hii pertaining to the reactivation of the branch which has been frozen.

Hii confirmed receiving the letter on the 15th of this month saying he would definitely reply to the letter as it was stated that he had to do so within 40 days.

“The letter stated that I have to answer a few things, among other things is my absence from the meetings,” said Hii.

He added that he would only comment on the letter after having a meeting with his supporters on Thursday.

Hii is one of two unnamed senior SUPP members referred to the party’s disciplinary committee by the Central Working Committee (CWC) recently.

It is an open secret that Stephen Wong from Sarikei branch is the other member mentioned by the CWC but he has yet to receive any letter from the committee.

When contacted Wong said there had been no official communication between the CWC and himself, and thus it was impossible for him to comment on the latest development on disciplinary action to be taken against him.

Wong was slammed for making his rounds in Sarikei to gain support to stand as SUPP Sarikei candidate in the next parliamentary election while Hii was referred to the disciplinary committee as he had “ignored a directive issued by secretary general Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian pertaining to the reactivation of Bintangor Branch”.
