UNFORGETABLE MOMENT: Students and lecturers in one of FTMS graduation ceremonies.

KUCHING: Students who recently earned their certificates or diplomas from FTMS International College will be honoured at the college’s 10th convocation ceremony to be held at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel on Sunday at 9am.

The external examiner of the college Trevor Ward will be the guest of honour at the ceremony with the college’s chief executive officer David Chew, presiding.

“Graduation is an exciting time for both the students and their parents,” said Chew.

This year’s graduation ceremonies would see 85 getting their diplomas and certificates at the ceremony.

The students had attended the diploma courses in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and ACCA.

“Our students have taken an important first step by getting educated in a new career. We share their excitement as they prepare for the next step and begin to work in the new business and accounting professions,” he added.

The Best Student Award, an award bestowed upon students with excellent overall academic achievements, will be given to Lim Chin Chin (Diploma in Accounting and Finance), Joyce Ho Yun Loke (Diploma in Business Administration) and Kueh Yii Ning (CAT).

This year, FTMS Special Achievement Award goes to its ACCA graduate, Chong Chiew Mien. Chong won the ACCA Top Affiliates (3rd placing) in the ACCA graduation ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Furthermore, all the best students will also be receiving scholarships granted by the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) during the ceremony.

To date, almost 900 students have completed their studies at different levels at FTMS since its inception in 1998.

The college’s strong alumni base is spread across a wide spectrum of sectors including accounting, finance, banking, automobile, information technology, marketing and sales, apart from some entrepreneurs across various sectors.
