KUALA TERENGGANU: After plying his trade with Terengganu for three years, Joseph Kalang Tie is ready to return and play for home state Sarawak.

The Miri lad who has completed his loan period is however willing to pull on Terengganu colours again if given the opportunity to play for the state in future.

“I love Terengganu and its people, particularly the football supporters,” he told reporters when asked to comment on his next destination.

Kalang, 25, who received many offers from other states, said that he was treated well by the management, fellow players and Terengganu football supporters.

“I am leaving with a heavy heart as I regard my friends (players) as my own family. I hope to meet them in the league and Malaysia Cup competition.”

Midfielder Kalang who began his career in 2006 was among ten key players released with mutual consent by the Terengganu Football Association on Wednesday.

The others were Mohd Sharbinee Allawee Ramli (goalkeeper), Abdul Shukur Jusoh, Reeshafiq Alwi, Abdul Hadi Yahya (midfielder), Hariri Mohd Safii, Mohd Muslim Ahmad (defender) and Md Ailim Fahmi Kamaruddin (striker).

The two foreign players not given new contracts for next season were Francis Forkey Doe (Liberia) and Erison Da Silva (Brazil). – Bernama
