Sibu police chief’s daughter weds

SIBU: Over 1,000 people attended the matrimony of the Sibu Police Chief’s daughter Nurul ‘Ain and 27-year-old Mohd Shahrin Darmin, an engineer of Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas), at the Civic Centre here yesterday morning.

Among the guest-of-honours were Bukit Aman management director Datuk Mortadza Nazarene, Sarawak CP Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, Sabah CP Dato Haji Hamza Taib, Minister of Local Government and Community Development, Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, Temenggong Vincent Lau, Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce, Temenggong Sir Adrian Ringgau and Dato Sri Dr Benny Lee.

Sibu Police chief ACP Shafie Ismail led the honour to perform the traditional Malay ‘Merenjis Air Tawar’ (blessing ritual) on the wedded couple.

Nurul, 25, the eldest daughter of Shafie, is a lawyer in the Peninsula.

She obtained a Bachelor of Law degree from University Technology Mara while Shahrin graduated from University Technology Melaka with a degree in engineering.
