KUALA LUMPUR: Police believe the teenager who surrendered to the police on Monday can lead police to the third suspect in the shooting of two policemen in Kuchai Lama last Wednesday, said Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah.

The 17-year-old youth had given himself up at the Kepong police station at 11am after the police had released photographs of the three suspects, he said.

One of the suspects was shot dead by police at Taman Desa Water Park at 3am last Sunday.

Ku said the teenager, who was from Taman Wahyu, Jinjang, would be held under remand until Monday to help in the investigation.

At 6.45pm last Wednesday, corporals R Subramanian, 52, and Nor Azlan Abu Bakar, 41, were shot as they were about to examine a car carrying three men which had stopped at a traffic signal along the Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway near Kuchai Lama here.

Subramaniam was injured in the abdomen and Nor Azlan, in the neck. Both policemen are reported to be in stable condition at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. — Bernama
