KUCHING: Limited lighting has made night photography a challenge for photographers, especially if they prefer to eliminate the use of flash photography to retain the authenticity and tone of the subject.

To address this concern, Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd (Samsung Malaysia), recently announced the latest addition to its growing range of Wi-Fi enabled ‘Smart’ camera – the Samsung Smart Camera EX2F – which was engineered to deliver super-bright photography with its F1.4 lens.

According to a press release yesterday, the F1.4 bright lens came with a wide range of aperture steps and shallow depth-of-field to enable users to capture each captivating moment clearly and without noise distortion.

Its 12.4 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and wide 24mm lens made it easier for users to shoot full-framed images. The harnessing of these two features had redefined low-light shooting and night photography.

“Ardent shutterbugs who want full creative control and DSLR quality images will find the EX2F their perfect on-the-road companion,” said Kwon Jae Hoon, managing director of Samsung Malaysia.

“Built-in Wi-Fi capability also ensures that users have the freedom to shoot and share special moments instantly on their social network sites with their friends and family,” he added.

The lens on EX2F also incorporated a neutral density filter, giving user greater control over exposure time in different conditions and making photos appear more neutral in situations of over-exposure.

To make bright images clearer, the camera also included Dual IS (OIS and DIS) to minimise the effect of shaking – particularly useful in low-light situations.
