Breaking Into Cars Lands Army Personnel In Jail

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: An army man in the Special Force Regiment of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces was sentenced to jail for two years, with six strokes of cane, after admitting to charges of eight car hreakings.for theft occurrences and one theft of a belonging, Borneo Bulletin reported.

DPP Dk Nurul Pg Rosli informed the court that the defendant committed the offences by breaking the car windows and stealing belongings which were left inside the vehicles.

These were committed in a span from May to September, 2012.

On one occasion on July 30, 2012, near BIBD Bank in Kiulap, the defendant who had driven there and alighted his car had discreetly approached a woman who was busy talking to her friend and took a Samsung Galaxy Note mobile phone from the woman’s handbag and left.

Senior Magistrate Muhammad Faisal PDJLD Hj Kefli presided over the case.
