KOTA KINABALU: Putatan is hoping that the 1 Malaysia Housing Programme Corporation (PR1MA) will be able to develop a housing project in its district.

Sabah deputy chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin said Putatan’s close location to the city of Kota Kinabalu made it a suitable location for the development of the affordable housing project.

“Putatan is the best locatio. Many people have been migrating to the place.

“Not only is it very near to the city centre, but the Kota Kinabalu Internatinoal Airport is also located between Putatan and Kota Kinabalu.” Yahya, who was also the state assemblyman for Petagas, said this to reporters after attending a meeting with the Village Security and Development Committee in Putatan, near here, yesterday.

He said this in response to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s announcement in Kudat recently that PR1MA was planning on working with the Sabah government to identify locations for the building of affordable houses in the state to meet the demand of the people for houses.

Meanwhile, when asked on the 2013 State Budget, due to be tabled by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman at the State Assembly tomorrow, Yahya said he was confident that the budget would bring benefits to the Sabah people from all walks of life. — Bernama
