KOTA KINABALU: About 18,000 civil servants in Sabah will receive a bonus of one-and-a-half months salary, similar to the one received by federal civil servants.
When announcing the bonus, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said it would be paid out in two instalments, namely in December and January next year.
“A half-month bonus was paid out in August,” he said.
“This is why the Barisan Nasional government is ahead, a government that is caring and sincere in its struggles, transparent and realistic in its administration,” he said when tabling the Sabah state budget 2013 at the State Legislative Assembly sitting in Likas, near here yesterday.
Musa, who is also the State Finance Minister, said civil servants represented the pillar and pulse in the management of the state and as such, their deeds and contribution were highly appreciated.
He also suggested that the maximum vehicle loan for civil servants in the state be raised between 15 and 33 per cent according the the officer’s category.
In addition, Musa said the interest rate for the loan would be reduced from four to three per cent while the maximum repayment period would be extended from seven to nine years effective Jan 1. — Bernama
