SANDAKAN: The people should embrace unity in celebrating Hari Raya Aidiladha, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman.
Speaking at the Aidiladha celebration with leaders in Sungai Obar yesterday, Musa said let the practice of meat distribution strengthen the relationship within the community.
“In commemorating the sacrifice made by Nabi Ibrahim A.S to his son Nabi Ismail A.S. on this Hari Raya Eid Al-adha, we shall ignite the sacrificial practice (ibadah korban) through distributing meat to the people, especially to the needy.
“It is very important that we continue to be united so that the prosperity we enjoy can be further strengthened,” he added.
Meanwhile speaking at Peringkat Tiga off Sungai Manila here, Musa said the establishment of the education hub at Jalan Sungai Batang, Mile 10, here, clearly indicated the government’s, under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, concern to provide educational opportunities to local children here.
“Local students can pursue higher education here without having to go away where it would be cost effective for their families,” he said, adding that the main road to the education hub and surrounding villages was now almost completed.
Earlier, Musa, accompanied by Gum-Gum assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Haji Mohd Edris performed the Eid Al-adha prayer at Asma Ul-Husna Mosque at Kampung Tinosa before visiting Kampung Sungai Batang at Mile 10.
