BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Kampong Kapok Village Consultative Council yesterday held a Korban ceremony which took place at the residence of the Village Head of Kg Kapok, Awg Hj Marali bin Hj Ahmad, Borneo Bulletin reported.
Present at the event was the Brunei-Muara District Officer, Awg Hj Jamain bin Momin who distributed the sacrificial meat to the recipients.
The Advisor of the Kg Kapok Consultative Council, Dr Hj Abd Hamid bin Hj Musa was also present to distribute the sacrificial meat. Also in attendance were executive committee members of the Kg Kapok Consultative Council as well as the Penghulu of Mukim Serasa.
The event was the first of its kind organised by members of the Kg Kapok Consultative Council and will continue to be held next year as one of the village’s annual programme of activities and events.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a mass Takbir Hari Raya.
Two cows were sacrificed and distributed to more than 100 people, including the elderly and youths of the village.
