SIBU: The thieves who drove off a stolen car with a sleeping boy inside have been arrested.

Policemen in Sarikei found three men and a woman acting suspiciously when they were travelling in the stolen black Toyota Wish at 5am along Bank Road yesterday.

They checked the car before seizing it and arrested the four, aged in their 20s and 30s.

The police in Sarikei will hand over the seized car to the police here. Before the incident at 8pm on Tuesday, the careless father from Bintangor was visiting his relative in Lada Road.

He left his car engine on and his son inside, thinking he would dash in for a while only.

He left his car door unlocked too. Two men then came in another car; one hopped onto the Bintangor man’s car and drove it off, with the driver of the other car following behind.

When the thief realised there was a boy inside the stolen car he dropped him off 500 metres away before speeding off with the stolen car.
