Hulu Rajang Member of Parliament Datuk Billy Abit Joo presented the grants to the JKKKs to enable them to improve conditions at their respective longhouses.

A total of RM12,000 went to the 24-door Rumah Umbar Bunsu at Upper Mujong to purchase building materials.

At a separate function, Abit presented RM15,000 to Rumah Mamut Jete, Nanga Entawau.

From that sum, RM10,000 is for the construction of an access road to the berthing point for villagers’ boats, while the remaining RM5,000 is for the women’s bureau to purchase materials for handicrafts such as pua kumbu and beadwork.

The access road will also benefit Rumah Seli and Rumah Ai.
