Dec 17 trial for boy over rape of his stepsister

TUARAN: The Juvenile Court here fixed Dec 17 this year to re-mention the case of a local underage boy who allegedly raped his stepsister.

No plea was taken from the 15-year-old boy who appeared before magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus.

The accused was alleged to have raped his 10-year-old stepsister at a house in a village in Tuaran at 10pm on Nov 5.

The undefended accused was charged under Section 376 (3) of the Penal Code which is punishable by a maximum jail of 20 years and whipping, upon conviction.

He was denied bail and ordered to be remanded further under Section 259 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Prosecuting officer Inspector Azaman Hamat prosecuted.

Meanwhile, in the Sessions Court here, local Mohd Fazliezul pleaded not guilty to committing a similar offence.

Deputy registrar of the High Court Hafizi Abdul Halim, who sat as a Sessions Court judge, set Dec 10 this year for case management.

Mohd was charged with raping a girl in the room of a house in a village in Beaufort at 10am around Oct 2012.
