Lanang MP inspects new road

SIBU: The upgrading of a 650-metre long village road at Mile 16, Oya Road and construction of a new road in Sungai/Rh Abang were recently completed.

Upgrading works, costing RM171,275, to the road that serves six longhouses consisted of levelling and tar-sealing.

Speaking to reporters when inspecting the road yesterday, Lanang MP Datuk Tiong Thai King also said the new 0.552km road in Sungai/Rh Abang was completed and tar-sealed at a cost of RM142,144.

Meanwhile, the clearing and levelling of the 2.70km road in Sg Pak is expected to be completed on Dec 31.

Costing RM387,700, it was now 70 per cent completed.

He also said the construction of a 1.50km road to Sg Assan, costing RM288,300 which is also tar-sealed, was now 10 per cent completed and expected to be completed on Dec 31 also.

Noting that some parts of the Durin-Sg Assan road were sinking, he said they were in need of upgrades.

“We will try to get the fund to improve the road,” he said.

Joining him for the inspection were his political secretary Tang Tung King and divisional engineer Tiong King Wei.
