Three men detained, nine motorcycle theft cases solved

KLANG: Nine motorcycle theft cases in South Klang, North Klang, Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya this year were solved with the detention of three local men, here.

South Klang district police chief ACP Mohamad Mat Yusop said the men, all 21, were nabbed on Tuesday and on Wednesay while six motorcycles, six motorcycle engines, two motorcycle frames and components were seized.

“We detained the first man, a mechanic, near a supermarket in Kampung Jawa, Klang on Tuesday at 9.15pm and seized a stolen motorcycle and two modified allen keys for stealing motorcycles,” he told reporters at the South Klang District Police Headquarters.

He said subsequent investigation led to the detention of two more men in Jalan Kota and Jalan Sungai Jati, respectively, and the seizures of five motorcycles, six motorcycle engines and numerous motorcycle components believed to be stolen.

Mohamad said investigation revealed that the first suspect had undergone detention under the Emergency Ordinance in Simpang Renggam, Johor while the rest did not have previous criminal records.

Most of the components, which were dismantled, were sold through the internet via e-mudah.com.

The case was investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code, he added. — Bernama
