MIRI: A man in his 30’s was arrested yesterday morning hours after he allegedly threatened to kill his parents.
Sources said the arrest was made after his parents lodged a police report at about 10am yesterday.
It is understood that the incident unfolded at about 4am shortly after the suspect arrived home following a drinking session with some friends.
Believed to be drunk, he went berserk when his parents did not open the door to his house at Kampung Lembah Hijau even though he had knocked on it several times.
Angered by the non-response, he grabbed hold of a PVC pipe to slam the door. The impact shattered a piece of glass on the door and pieces of the broken glass hit his father on the leg.
Sources said the suspect had also verbally threatened to kill his parents when he slammed the pipe against the door.
His father later received medical treatment at Miri Hospital.
