KANOWIT: Kanowit MP Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang told the people here last Saturday that the government allocation of RM283 million for infrastructure projects to transform the rural area required their full cooperation.

He said they ought to support the present government in the impending general election to ensure that their standard of living would continue to improve.

“This is also in line with the Barisan Nasional’s (BN’s) policy of putting the people’s needs and welfare first in its service delivery,” he said when officiating at the meet-the-people session at Rumah Awan in Rantau Dilang.

Expecting the people to be grateful that they were governed by a caring government, he said no one was left behind in BN development agenda.

Reiterating his call to the people to support the BN in the coming election, he said: “The future of our country’s political direction lies in the hands of the people.

“Don’t be swayed by the agenda of the opposition.”

At the function, Aaron handed out wheelchairs and food hampers contributed by the Prime Minister’s Department.

Earlier, he visited the new site for Rumah Liyang Gura in Ulu Bawan and inspected the reconstruction of Rumah Erok in Bejait. The longhouse was destroyed by fire in July 2011.

He also inspected the construction of the Rantau Dilang Road.

Kanowit Information Department office head Wan Mohd Zuki Wan Ismail accompanied Aaron at the session.
