LOST CONTROL: A car skids off the slippery road into the drain.
SARIKEI: Two cars skidded into the drain in two separate accidents here yesterday.
In the 9am incident, a Viva car driven by a 40-something Iban man skidded off the road and turned turtle in a low lying area at the junction of Kwong Ming/Minah Road, about 15km from here.
The driver, who was on his way to Sibu, blamed the mishap on the slippery condition caused by the heavy downpour.
At around noon, a car driven by a man in his 20s with an elderly man on board suffered a similar fate.
The driver also blamed the wet condition, which caused him to lose control of his vehicle and plunged into the drain near CTC Sawmill, about four kilometres from here.
Both cars were damaged in the incidents, but fortunately no one sustained serious injuries
