KUALA LUMPUR: Scomi Group Bhd (Scomi) emerged among the actives in the trading on Bursa Malaysia yesterday prompted by news that the company has bagged a RM380 million contract from Total E&P Indonesie.

It was reported yesterday that Scomi had won a contract for the provision of drilling fluids, the company’s single largest contract in terms of contract value in Indonesia.

Its president of market units for Scomi Oilfield Services Wan Ruzlan Iskandar Wan Salaidin said this was an affirmation of the group’s ongoing efforts in research and development for effective and quality solutions in drilling fluids.

Scomi said to date, the Oilfield Services division had a healthy order book of over RM1.7 billion and had participated in tenders in excess of RM3 billion.

Despite the positive news and being among the active counters, Scomi’s share price closed at 37.5 sen per share after hovering in a tight range of between 37 sen and 42 sen at all day. A total of 4.489 million shares were traded. — Bernama
