KUALA BELAIT:  A seven-year-old girl died in a mishap at the Panaga Club Beach in Seria last Friday evening, the Royal Brunei Police Force said, Borneo Bulletin reported.

The girl, the child of an expatriate working for Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP), was said to have died from injuries sustained after being hit by a large log that was carried by the incoming tide while playing with her friends along the beach.

“It is important that we stand together as one and support those who have been affected. As utmost respect to the family, we request that they are given the privacy in this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and everyone else impacted in the tragedy,” the press statement said.
