Selangor ends Pahang’s winning streak

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor put an end to Pahang’s winning streak in the Super League with a 3-2 win at the Shah Alam Stadium, Selangor.

With the win, Selangor has propelled to the second position in the league with nine points on par with Pahang and Lions XII but with Selangor having goal advantage.

Selangor opened the score through veteran striker, Amri Yahya who netted two goals in the third and 20th minute.

Pahang came back strongly when they equalised with two goals by Fauzi Roslan (24th minute) and Razman Roslan (44th minute). Selangor sealed the game with a winning goal by Ramzul Zahini in the 80th minute.

The Lions XII squad also won three points after narrowly beating Terengganu at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Singapore’s two goals were scored by Safuwan Baharudin in the 64th minute and Syafiq Zainal in the 74th minute while Terengganu opened the score with their solitary goal by Jean Emmanuel Effa in the 32nd minute.

Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan failed to capitalise their home ground advantage when they lost 0-1 to Perak at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi.

Perak’s only goal was scored by Failee Ghazali during injury time. — Bernama
