SIBU: The 26th tournament of Swan Golf Fellowship at the Sibu Golf Course in Oya Road on Jan 19 was a wash-out, no thanks to the inclement weather.
Some 90 golfers had turned up for the competition.
The prize presentation scheduled for the evening of the same day was nonetheless held with the prizes given away as lucky draw prizes.
The night’s function at Paramount Hotel also celebrated the birthday of the tournament sponsor Wong Pak Cheng.
Swan Golf Fellowship was incepted in 2003, and has now 118 members. The 118th member to register was Sibu Police deputy chief Supt Zayadi Sebeli.
The club’s next tournament will be the Chinese New Year Special on Jan 27, sponsored by Datuk Wong Kuo Hea of Ta Ann Group
Another tournament is scheduled for March before the Qing Ming festival, with Datuk Hii Tiong Kuok of the Semarak Group as the sponsor.
