ALL READY: Road resurfacing works including the car parks near 10th Mile Bazaar shophouses just across the street from MPP have also been completed.

KUCHING: The burst underground water pipe located at the t-junction leading towards 10th Mile Bazaar market has been fixed.

SUPP Youth secretary general Wilfred Yap expressed his gratitude in a press statement thanking the relevant authorities for the prompt actions taken right after the complaint was lodged.

He also thanked community leader Penghulu Lim Eng Huat, Kapitan Chong Chen and Councillor Lim Eng Kok who have been serving the ‘rakyats’ wholeheartedly all this while.

“The co-operation given by the relevant authorities, community leaders and even the general public have given me the confidence to do better in the future”, the fulltime lawyer added.

“At the end of the day, it is all about serving the ‘rakyat’. This is what we can do and should do. I must also give credit to these gentlemen for assisting me, so that I can serve the people better. I firmly believe in teamwork when it comes to getting things done,” he said.

The SUPP candidate was at 10th Mile Bazaar inspecting the situation when he received the complaint last Wednesday (January 16), accompanied by Kapitan Chong and Councillor Lim.

Hawkers at 10th Mile Market had to operate under strained circumstances when the underground pipe burst, causing low water pressure at the market. It slowed to a trickle at times during the peak periods, causing them great inconvenience.

During his initial inspection last Wednesday, Yap had also vowed to continue highlighting issues and matters close to the public as he believed that this was the best way for SUPP to reconnect to the public.

At the same time, road-resurfacing works including the car parks near 10th Mile Bazaar shophouses just across the street from Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) have also been completed.

Yap who inspected the resurfacing work, was pleased to see problems that perplexed the locals being sorted out gradually.

Yap, a firm believer of the ‘People First, Performance Now’, continuously expressed his commitment and promised that SUPP Youth would continue to use every avenue at their disposal to apply for more infrastructure development funds for the benefit of the public.
