STRATEGIC LOCATION: Prospective home buyers and property investors are seen at the launch of Kuching City Mall Phase 9. KUCHING: Property developer Kuching City Mall Development Sdn Bhd has launched Phase 9 of its landmark Kuching City Mall, consisting og double-storey semi-detached and double-storey terraced houses, located along the New Expressway, 4 ½ Mile Off Jalan Penrissen.

The launch at the developer’s marketing agency PWP Properties Sdn Bhd’s (PWP Properties) office yesterday saw overwhelming response as home buyers and property investors alike flocked to gather more information and take advantage of the attractive early bird special promotional offers.

For a limited time on a first come first served basis, early bird buyers of double-storey terraced storey units (Emerald C) would receive a RM10,000 discount towards to the purchase price as well as free legal fees for the sale and purchase agreement and free stamp duty.

Meanwhile, the 20 units of double-storey semi-detached houses (Ruby C) which were attractively priced starting from RM750,000 per unit received very encouraging response at the launch as quality houses at such prices were highly sought after.

According to a spokesperson, Phase 9 was a very good location as it was literally within walking distance to Kuching City Mall Commercial Centre with 89 units of three-storey shop lots and 42 units of single-storey lock-up shops.

These commercial units had been completed and many had been operational for months with businesses such as CCK Fresh Mart, a well-known seafood restaurant, food court, electrical goods outlet and furniture shops, along with a Kedai Rakyat 1 Malaysia (KR1M) to be opened soon.

In addition, the extensive area allocated for hundreds of parking spaces at the commercial centre had allowed some 200 stalls to be set up during weekends for what the spokesperson dubbed as ‘Sunday Market No. 2’.

With increasing demand for fresh produce and other edibles from consumers, plans were underway to boost the number of weekend market stalls to about 400 before Chinese New Year; this notable expansion would make the nearby Phase 9 a highly strategic location, the spokesperson highlighted.

The entire Kuching City Mall mixed development with a total area of 103 acres was designed with 659 residential units, of which about 300 had already been issued occupancy permits.
