Riam Road Social and Recreation Club an exemplary club — Lee

MIRI: Riam Road Social and Recreation Club (RRSR) has been an active club for the surrounding society since its establishment 12 years ago.

Assistant Minister of Sports and Communication, Datuk Lee Kim Shin said that RRSR has organised various activities for its members annually.

“The club has been a good exemplary for other organisations, where RRSR hosted various sports activities and recreational events for its members,” he said during RRSR club’s member gathering Friday evening.

Likewise, he said by hosting a lot of activities with member participation make the club an active organisation.

“At the same time, by active involvement of its members, it is also an avenue to promote healthy lifestyle and foster good relationship amongst Riam Road residential area,” he added.

Lee told that the government continuously encourage the community to practise healthy lifestyle including involvement in various recreational activities.

“For example, RRSR also conducted a yoga session to the members as well as traditional dances and cultural performances,” he added.

Moreover, practising healthy lifestyle in such events ease the stress level in individuals who are busy in their daily responsibility.

“The community also urged practicing a balance diet by eating healthy food to avoid obesity problems,” he said.

At the same event, Lee also presented appreciation plaques to some of its most active members with over 10 years in the club.
