MIRI: The government emphasises interaction among people of various religious and racial backgrounds to foster understanding.
Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Dato Sri Peter Chin said this when launching the divisional-level ‘My Beautiful Malaysia’ programme.
Chin said the federal and state governments want Malaysians, youths in particular, to engage in charitable activities under 1 Malaysia For Youth (1M4U) themed ‘Beautiful Malaysia’.
“Hopefully, through this programme, all of us, especially youths, can be actively involved in development to make changes in society and positively impact the lives of youths in the country,” Chin said.
He said the 1M4U’s strategy is to transform Malaysians from being a materialistic society to community volunteers.
