Man loses two fingers in attack

TAWAU: Due to a misunderstanding, a man lost two fingers and his three friends were injured in an attack by a group of men at Ba Zhong here on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old victim and his friends were at one of the entertainment centres in the area when a group of four men approached them around 11.30pm and attacked them.

One of the suspects used a Samurai sword to attack the victim which hit his left hand.

District police chief ACP Awang Besar Dullah yesterday said the victim suffered serious injuries and had received 30 stitches. He was still being treated at the general hospital here.

Awang Besar said police were still conducting a full investigation on the incident and the case was being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code.

He urged the public who witnessed the incident to come forward and channel the information at the nearest police station.

He advised the public not to take hasty decisions when they faced problems but to refer to the police.
